Marvelous Mushroom Soup (Raw)( Soup - Vegetable )
Daily Random RecipeINGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup almond butter (raw) 1 1/2 cup quartered mushrooms 1 T liquid aminos (like braggs) 1 pinch sea salt (or dulse, better) 4 T finely chopped mushrooms METHOD:In a blender, combine the water and almond butter, and blend. Add the quartered mushrooms, liquid aminos and salt (or dulse). Blend until smooth. Pour into individual bowls and top with the chopped mushrooms. Yields: 1 cup

Coconut Pie Crust (Raw)( Cakes - Pie crust )
Daily Random RecipeINGREDIENTS:1 cup brazil nuts, soaked for 6 hours, drained, and dehydrated for 8 hours 1 cup walnuts, soaked overnight, drained, and dehydrated for 8 hours 1 cup pecans, soaked overnight, drained, and dehydrated for 8 hours 1 cup buckwheat, soaked, sprouted overnight, and dehydrated 6 hours 1/2 cup raw honey (***not vegan, but i'm sure maple/golden syrup would do) 1/2 t salt 1/2 lb / 225 g dates, soaked and drained, with seeds removed 1 t vanilla powder 1 cup coconut, freshly grated or chopped in food processor METHOD:1. Place all ingredients in food processor and process until it begins to form into a ball. 2. Remove small amounts of pie crust and press into a pie plate. Continue until the entire pie plate is covered. 3. Use as is or dehydrate for 1-2 hours for a dryer crust. Serves 8.NOTES:By Jackie Graff - 'Living Food Feasts From Shinui Retreat'

Ma-Ne Net Seaweed Salad( Salad - Vegetable )
Daily Random RecipeINGREDIENTS:3 cups dried wakame seaweed 1/2 sweet red bell pepper, chopped 1/2 cup red onion, chopped 1 1/2 red tomatoes, chopped 1/8 t cayenne 1/2 t onion powder 1/2 t garlic powder 1/8 t dry mustard Pinch of sea salt or other salt substitute 1 T sesame oil 1 T olive oil 1 T tamari (or soy sauce) 1 T raw honey or maple syrup METHOD:In a large bowl, add just enough hot spring water to the seaweed to cover it. Allow this to sit for 5 to 6 minutes, until the seaweed has absorbed most of the water and has a green-leafy consistency. Squeeze the remainder of the liquid out of the greens. Add the chopped vegetables and mix well. To this mixture add the dry ingredients and again mix well until the spices are evenly distributed. Following this add the remainder of the ingredients. Chilled Avocado and Rocket Soup with Salsa( Soup - Chilled )
Daily Random RecipeINGREDIENTS:2 large ripe avocadoes1 small bunch rocket leaves3 spring onionsJuice of 3 lemons1 small garlic clove150 - 200 milliliters (0.3 - 0.4 pints) soy milk1 cup of ice cubes1 small piece of fresh root ginger, gratedWater if neededSalt and pepperTomato Salsa3 large ripe fresh tomatoes, seeds removed and cut into small dice2 tablespoons chopped parsley3 tablespoons olive oil1 tablespoon balsamic vinegarMETHOD:Put all the ingredients together and liquidize.Tomato SalsaCombine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Spoon over the soup on top of croutons.

Spinach Quiche (Raw)( Quiche - Vegetable )
Daily Random RecipeINGREDIENTS:1 lb / 450 g spinach1 cup flaxseed soaked in 2 cups water1 cup Almond Mayonnaise1/2 cup pignoli nuts 1/4 cup lemon juice1 garlic clove2 T Braggs3 T agar flakes1/2 bunch scallions, minced 4 T fresh dill, minced1 1/2 cups walnuts1 T Braggs1 garlic cloveMETHOD:Heat agar flakes in one cup water until dissolved. Set aside. Wash and finely mince spinach in processor with S blade. Set aside. Process last three ingredients and press into 10 inch / 25 cm pie plate. Pour off one cup mixed flaxseed liquid and blend with pignoli nuts, lemon juice, one clove garlic and Braggs. Combine minced spinach, almond mayonnaise and above flaxseed mixture and agar mixture in a bowl. Mix well, adding scallions and dill. Pour into shell. Let chill and set before serving. NOTES:Make Buttermilk Flaxseed Dressing (Raw) with the one cup of leftover soaked flaxseeds. From 'Dining in the Raw' by Rita Romano. |

Marinated Eggplant (Raw)( Vegetables - Eggplant )
Daily Random RecipeINGREDIENTS:1 young eggplant, peeled and diced Juice of 2 lemons 1 red onion, chopped 1 garlic clove, minced 1 red pepper, diced 4 large mushrooms, sliced 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped 2 T fresh parsley, chopped Braggs to taste METHOD:Combine all, coat with Braggs and let marinate about two hours before serving. Eggplant requires a lot of Braggs. Be careful when choosing eggplants for raw preparation. Ones with a lot of seeds inside tend to be bitter. Remove excess seeds when possible. NOTES:For variation, marinate eggplant separately, squeeze out and discard juice. Add to recipe. From 'Dining in the Raw' by Rita Romano. |
