A third of all dogs in San Francisco's pound are Chihuahuas. It is the same story in Los Angeles, Oakland, Berkeley and San Jose where the small trendy dog with pointed ears and oversized eyes is taking up space to a degree never seen before.

my comment... the good news is that these dogs are being shipped to to various places of north america through rescue organization adoptions. |

Sterilizing pets isn't a priority for new owners

Despite campaigns encouraging sterilization to reduce pet overpopulation, and despite expanding options for low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, nearly half of people who have acquired unsterilized pets in the last year haven't fixed them.

California State Senate Majority Leader Dean Florez introduced a bill on Friday that proposed creating an online registry of animal abusers, much like a registry for sex offenders. The registry would list a known animal abusers address and possibly complicate future employment opportunities.

Thhis film hit me close to my heart as i have a rescued labradoodle. The first "official" labradoodle was breed to be s service dog.
There is segment in this film where a dog detects seisures before they happen...
I have a cat who woke me up in a very special emergency way when i was most likely having a mini stroke... |
